Join RBWN for a hands-on Power Breakfast exploring the principles of graphic design and how to apply them in Canva.
Regardless of what you’re creating for your business, impactful design starts with understanding the fundamentals. This beginner-friendly workshop will explore some of the essential elements that help create clear, balanced, and effective visual communication pieces.
Learn by Doing
Led by Sally Diaz, Creative Director & Graphic Designer at Blackswift Creative, this interactive session will introduce some of the core principles of graphic design, including layout, typography, imagery, color, and visual hierarchy. We will examine how these elements work together and use Canva to put them into practice. No design experience is required. We’ll start with a project together and work through the basics.

- Basic principles of graphic design
- Layout, composition, and visual hierarchy
- Choosing and working with type and imagery
- The role of color in design
- Using Canva as a design tool
- Common design considerations when creating your own materials

Your Wi-Fi-ready laptop, a mouse, and a project idea. Please set up a free Canva account in advance so we can get started without spending time troubleshooting.
