Shari Reffsin is a financial advisor with nearly two decades of experience in the financial services industry. Working closely with individuals, couples, and families, she specializes in financial planning. She also has unique experience and training helping people navigate through the financial stages of divorce. Passionate about empowering her clients through education and knowledge, she enjoys the opportunity her role offers her to make a positive impact on people’s lives.
Prior to joining the financial services industry when her now-grown children were babies, Shari worked with The Mother’s Center of Rockland County. Around that time, she had the opportunity to meet with a financial planner. She was skeptical about his ability to offer helpful advice. After speaking with him, she realized just how many women didn’t understand their financial opportunities. With a desire to educate both herself and other women, she began taking courses in finance and insurance, and ultimately became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. Shari became an insurance agent with one of the largest and most successful MassMutual agencies, building a strong insurance and financial planning background. Since 2005, she has worked with Orazio Financial Services and runs her own independent practice.
Committed to education and expanding her knowledge of financial services, she holds several designations and degrees. She holds FINRA Series 6, 7, and 63 securities registrations with National Planning Corporation, and life and health insurance licenses. She is Certified in Long-Term Care and holds the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certifications. She received both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in business from Pace University.
Shari has previously taught financial planning at Rockland Community College and conducts educational seminars. She is a member of the Association of Divorce Financial Planners, Rockland Women’s Business Network, Bergen County Professional Women’s Network, and is Past President of the Estate Planning Council of Rockland County. She has also served on the boards of multiple local not-for-profit organizations.
Shari resides in Norwood, New Jersey. In her free time, she enjoys yoga and taking walks around her neighborhood with her husband and their Maltipoo named Buster.
