Ms. O’Grady joined Miller Zeiderman & Wiederkehr LLP in November 2018 after having served as the Principal Court Attorney to a Supreme Court Justice for five years and a Family Court Judge for almost three years. Prior to her employment with the Unified Court System, Ms. O’Grady also worked as an Assistant Deputy Borough Chief and Assistant Corporation Counsel in the NYC Law Department – Family Court Division, and as an Assistant County Attorney prosecuting neglect and abuse matters in Columbia County, NY.
Ms. O’Grady’s experience as a Court Attorney provides her with the unique and invaluable perspective of having worked side by side with the Judges presiding over divorce actions and post-judgment matrimonial matters, custody/visitation matters, guardianship cases, child support matters, neglect and abuse matters, adoptions, and paternity cases. Her court system background of conferencing and settling matters with counsel and pro se litigants allows her to approach cases with an eye towards resolution, while her litigation background enables her to litigate cases/issues when necessary.
Ms. O’Grady was admitted to the NY State Bar (App. Div. 2nd Dept) in January 2005. She received the Judith S. Kay Community Service Award in 2018 from the Unified Court System. She is currently the President Elect of the Rockland Women’s Bar Association and has served on the Board of Directors for two years. She is also a member of the Rockland County Bar Association. Ms. O’Grady volunteers her time and efforts with the Alzheimer’s Association (Co-Walk Chair for the Rockland County Walk to End Alzheimer’s Walk Committee and Team Captain of Team O’Grady), Rockland County Autism Advocates (Secretary), and various other charitable efforts.
She is a lifelong Rockland resident, having graduated from the Nanuet Union Free School District, and attending Pace University and Pace Law School as a commuter.
