Brooke Malloy has spent her entire career working to make life better for Rocklanders, first at the Nyack Center and then at VCS as part of the Gay Pride Rockland initiative. Gay Pride Rockland was the vision that helped create the Phyllis B. Frank Rockland County Pride Center and Brooke was a natural fit as the Pride Center’s Founding Executive Director in 2016.
As a proud queer woman, Brooke and her husband raised their children in Rockland. Now, she is helping raise the next generation of LGBTQ+ youth to live proud, thriving lives as members of a multi-generational community. She works tirelessly in the community, building bridges and creating opportunities. Because of this passion, youth, families, adults, and seniors can find a home at the Pride Center through community events, support groups, and advocacy opportunities.
In November 2021, Brooke was instrumental in founding the Jacobs Family Pride Wellness Center of Montefiore Nyack Hospital, which brought expert LGBTQ+ healthcare for adults to the Hudson Valley region for the first time. “When Rockland is working for LGBTQ+ people, it’s working better for everyone who lives here,” says Malloy. “We raise our families, own businesses, and hold elected office throughout this County. We belong here, and our lives are not up for debate.”
