Vivian England
Vivian England is a seasoned expert in public administration. She is currently the Liaison to the Chairman of the Rockland County Legislature and for almost two decades she served as the Deputy Executive Director of the Center for Safety and Change.
Deeply committed to social justice Vivian was the Vice- Chair of the Rockland County Commission of Human Rights for over two decades. In addition, she is the Immediate-Past Chair of the Board of Leadership Rockland and lead the effort to create Leadership Rockland’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Board Committee. She is also the coordinator for Leadership Rockland’s Multi-Cultural Communities and Social Justice Day. One of her favorite quotes is “she who believes in justice cannot rest.
Self-described as “community centered” Vivian is the former Chair of the board of Cornell Cooperative Extension, and she currently serves on the boards of Leadership Rockland, People to People and Childcare Resources of Rockland. She is also a Trustee for the historic St. Charles African Methodist Episcopal Church in Sparkill, New York.
Vivian is a recipient of the Spring Valley NAACP Unsung Hero Award, the Nyack Center’s Woman of Leadership and Vision Award and The County of Rockland Above and Beyond Community Service Award.
She holds a Master of Public Administration degree (MPA) and is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
Vivian resides in Valley Cottage with her spouse of 30 years and is the mother of two children.
